Sleeping with Sirens is an American post-hardcore from Orlando, Florida. The band was formed in 2009 by members of For All We Know, Broadway, and We Are Defiance. They are currently signed to Rise Records.
A while back I went to this concert. The line was extremely long outside, I wasn't even sure at the time if I would be able to get tickets or not, though luckily I did. This was right before my birthday, and my mom took me (She's my concert buddy) as part of my gift, also as a part of the gift she bought me a wrist band at the bands merch table that way I could meet the band afterward.
But let me start with performance.
Kellin's voice is exceptional, we all know that, and he sounds just the same live as he does on albums, which is always fantastic! Jesse Lawson and Jack Fowler did a great job on guitar, Gabe was badass on drums, and Justin on bass was pretty cool as well.
Everyone was having a good time, there wasn't a pit (obviously) and it was sort of a nice change. I can recall that everyone who knew the words were singing along.
The show was pretty good, the only thing was the sound quality, BUT I know that that was mainly the venues fault and that the band has no control over such things.
FF: As I mentioned before we had to pay to meet the band. Which in the first place I thought was a little odd, but I was okay with it none the less because it was a gift, and I had wanted to get a chance to tell them what a great job they do on the albums, ect.
But then...then line. Their manager made everyone get in a line and pretty much herded us to the table where the band was at. The band did NOT want to talk, it was apparent. Even when I had asked one of the members how they were, I was pretty much ignored. In all honesty, it was pretty upsetting given the fact that was what I was led to believe I had paid for, a chance to have a conversation. They took pictures with us, and then that was it. They packed up and left.
Now I know that people have off nights, but to say the least I was not pleased. Now this doesn't mean that you shouldn't go see them live or anything like that, I'm simply telling you that they aren't as open as some other bands. Also keep in mind I have had a lot of experience getting to talk to bands and meet them so SWS has a lot to be compared to.
Don't forget to download their most recent album Feel.
