Sick Puppies is an Australian rock band, which formed in 1997.
The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Shimon Moore, bassist Emma Anzai and drummer Mark Goodwin.
Sick Puppies has most definitely set the standard for many rock bands performing in large arenas. The band was full of energy and it was incredibly clear that they have a true passion for music. The bands powerful lyrics tend to hit home for everyone in some way or another, and even if it doesn't - you can still feel the raw emotion that Shim emits.
Sick Puppies has left a lasting impression on me not only with their music, but with their incredible personalities. When I went to see them perform, it was a very large arena. There were tons of people, and I never would've expected to see them to take the time to do a signing. But they did!
As soon as they were done with their set, they sat out in the main part of the building to sign autographs for fans - and whats more is that they stayed throughout all the other bands sets! It was incredibly generous of them to take the time to do something so kind for fans.
I'm a huge fan of bands that are thankful for their fans, so I really appreciated that they put forth a concerted effort and spent time to show their appreciation.
The concert was absolutely breath-taking, and heres why:
Shim Moore is a powerhouse. Shim's vocals sound exactly the same as they do on the albums, which shows that he actually has raw talent - it isn't filtered and compressed ridiculously in other words. Watching and hearing Shim sing on stage is an emotional journey, every single feeling he puts into the lyrics can be felt in your own soul.
I was also impressed by his guitar playing! Not many people can sing and play guitar at the same time and be so impressive, I didn't hear a single mistake.
Emma Anzai - First off, if you haven't already come to this conclusion; Emma is a complete badass on bass. You can hear her throughout every single song, and she is absolutely incredible! In my opinion Emma has to be one of the best female bassists ever. Most people don't want to play bass, but after watching Emma I'm sure that everyone will want to learn! Watching her on stage is the definition of pure entertainment.
Mark Goodwin - A fantastic drummer! And then again, what is a band without drums? Mark is definitely the best drummer for Sick Puppies with his hard beats. There's some sort of drive in the sound that he creates, and for the first time ever - in a drummer at least - I could feel the passion in his playing. Mark brings it to the stage!
Sick Puppies is a must see for anyone! Don't miss an opportunity to see these incredible musicians.
