In the past few years many bands have lost important members - for example the tragic loss of beloved Mitch Lucker. But what should bands do after a tragic event takes a member or if a member such as a vocalist walks away or is imprisoned?
Many would suggest just replacing the member, while this may often be a very good solution and can have a great turnout, we've also seen it have the opposite effect.
In a recent poll that I've posted, - SS new vocalist - the majority of the votes said that Suicide Silence should just break up; rather than trying to "replace" (of course no one can truly replace Mitch) Mitch.
So, what about Lost Profits? I'm sure we've all become aware of the situation at hand, so of course there will eventually be a replacement. Or will there?
In some situations it's best to just replace the member and carry on in the same direction or even in a different direction.
However, in other situations such as losing a member tragically as in the case of Suicide Silence - wouldn't it just be better to keep all the same members, introduce a new one, and then maybe change the name of the band?
Or would changing the name be like starting all over again, recreating a new name for themselves and working on becoming known again under that new name?
